The L.I. group’s 5000 plus members elect 11 volunteers from their ranks to an executive board which creates and executes policy and actions for the group. Among the activities the L.I. group engages in are public education (monthly public meetings, displays at events, school presentations), member education (printed & emailed news), outdoor explorations, estuary water testing, advocacy, conservation initiatives, political endorsements, and lobbying. Members and non-members interested in promoting our goals are welcome to volunteer with us as leaders or workers. |
